Digital Photography Class

One of my dreams has been to take a digital photography class, so since I have the summer off, I signed up for a class with one of the members of our church (we call him "Digital Doug").  He's a retired professional photographer who worked for such employers as the New York Times, Sunset Magazine, and Money Magazine.  He's most well-known for his photo shoot of Bill Gates and Paul Allen in the 1980's (see the great photo below).

We had a small class that met at a school in Monroe (four of us), so we got a lot of quality time with the instructor. During each of the six weeks of class, we had assignments to take portraits, landscapes, and water shots.  We got to critique each others work during class, when our memory cards were loaded into Doug's Apple computer and projected onto the large screen at the front of the class.

Here are a few pictures of the class and one of our evening outdoor sessions, where we learned about light.
