The Wonder of Pie

What is it about sharing a home-made pie that is so delightful?  Is it the fact that someone went to all the trouble to drive to a local farm and pick the berries early one spring morning?  Is it the fact that a home-made pie crust was mixed and kneaded and rolled out to line the pie plate?  And the perfect, sweet berries were mixed into a glace and poured over cream cheese?

Our friend and neighbor Roberta did all of these things!  And then she came to our house and gave us two huge pieces of this incredible dessert!

This is one of the many reasons we love The Slow Life in Maltby (and the reason our neighbors are not only our neighbors, but they are our friends!).  These are the moments in Life that we truly savor.

The berries were picked in Carnation
